Warfel's Chocolate OOH Ad
The assigned objective for this group project was to make an OOH bulletin ad to be featured in downtown Harrisonburg, as well as a print ad to be featured in a local magazine or newspaper. The big idea provided was to increase sales of this locally owned business. We chose to capitalize on the importance of gift giving throughout the holiday season to promote the chocolates as a gift.

OOH Sketches
The inspiration behind these two ads came from vintage candy / holiday ads that we found during our research. Since we didn't have the tools to create our own images, we were challenged with the task of finding free media to utilize in the ad. The final advertisements and concepting appealed to Millennial / Gen X women who love gift giving and appreciate the sentiment of shopping local when finding these gifts. Capitalizing on the ideas of "homemade" and "traditional" we were able to come up with our final tagline, "Gift a Box of Tradition".
When creating the final OOH image, I had to find a woman from a vintage photo that I could utilize for our purposes. Once this character was found, I spent time in photoshop and Illustrator editing the color and textures of modern images to match our vintage aesthetic. I was able to create a vintage kitchen showcasing a woman at the oven baking chocolates. The goal was to make the final advertisement look like a present the viewer could gift to their family members with the copy, "From the kitchen to your Christmas Tree".
